Yessenia Patricia Alvarez Anaya (PhD student)

Yessenia Patricia Alvarez Anaya is a doctoral student at the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Anthropology (CIESAS-Occidente). She has conducted interviews with seasonal agricultural workers in Mexico on their experiences in Canada. She completed a master's degree in Sociocultural Anthropology at Alfonso Vélez Pliego Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (2017-2019). She studied her BA in Sociocultural Anthropology at the University of El Salvador (2009-2014). Her research in El Salvador is around questions of the reproduction of subaltern classes, violence, childhood, and education.
